DCUK quotes of the day !

" No, I have no interest in low carbing."

" If that's what low-carbing does to someone then you are a good example of avoiding it."

"Anyone who in in a famine situation, e.g. certain parts of Africa, would find it very hard to run. Give them an apple and they probably could run a bit. That is part of the reason they are so vulnerable. And before you try to patronise me about using this as an example, I have first-had experience."

"Here's a scenario ... a young child who hasn't eaten for days has the opportunity to escape from Syria to Turkey on foot. Do you

1. Give them a bowl of fruit
2. Give them a tub of lard"

Quoted by Mireille during a discussion on lowcarb and ketosis.

I see a big future for Mireille on the diabetes.co.uk forum, straight out of the Jopar mould.  BTW has anyone seen Gezza lately ?

Check out the fun and games here.

What would you choose ?

Hmmm...Tricky one this and would depend on your circumstances

I would personally take my chances with the tub of lard and firearm(Remember,ALL low carbers exist solely on lard and alcohol apparently)

The gas mask and fruit bowl however, may be the ideal choice for the carb addicted Orlistat user that is planning an exodus.

You were quite rude to Marielle Paul.
She has every right to say what she is thinking as do you. You tried to ridicule her and it backfired.
As for the drink, you have admitted that you have a problem. Many low carbers rely on alcohol to lower their numbers.
I will never understand why people don't take their personal issues with each other behind the scenes in a p.m. exchange as per the forum rules.

Well I've just read the thread, and I fail to see where Paul was "quite rude" to Mireille.
He's called her out, that's all.
I'd consider getting her name wrong a greater lack of respect than anything Paul might have done.

“Many low carbers rely on alcohol to lower their numbers.”

Irene you are clearly clueless about lowcarb and diabetes control. Do you really think lowcarbers would blow their livers and kidneys out by seeking a temporary, short term, lowering of BG numbers, by consuming excessive alcohol ? If you do, you are madder than me.

I drink as a respite from self righteous people like you and because I love fine wine. Loosen up your stays Irene, we only live once.

Hi Irene !

Thanks for the comment and I wasn't being rude as you put it-Mirielle has stated that she has no interest WHATSOEVER in low carb dieting so my valid question was "Why if you have no interest in OR intention of following a low carb/ketogenic diet EVER would you constantly try and pick holes in it and rubbish it as it is a very valid method of control for myself and many others ?"

Slightly sweeping statement about lowcarbers relying on alcohol though Irene?

Lowcarbers and others will be aware that alcohol can temporarily lower levels, so to avoid spikes, drinking with food can be a TEMPORARY aid.

That's hardly "Relying" on it is it? Not like pouring it over a bowl of cornflakes and thinking that will make it OK. 5.9

He was not rude at all, Paul made a valid point that needed answering.

Just what backfired it seems to me sweetie your interpretation of the posts are the complete opposite of mine.

As for the drink, you have admitted that you have a problem. Many low carbers rely on alcohol to lower their numbers.

Total bullshit just who are these MANY low carbers you refer to, methinks you've been influenced by the idiotic innuendo repeatedly used by the anti low carbers, that is of course if your not already one of them.

I will never understand why people don't take their personal issues with each other behind the scenes in a p.m. exchange as per the forum rules.

It is a discussion board your talking about! I don't see it as a personal issue, it was Marielle who started the topic that Paul responded to which did not break any forum rules.

Here's another comment from your friend Marielle which and I agree with Paul is in very poor taste, though given your very jaundiced views of low carbers will meet with your approval.

Link to DCUK: I reckon it's your ABV.
