What do we want from our forum ?

Two weeks after the fall of the Tsar the Politburo decide the future of the forum. New rules seem to be a hot topic. How do we get rid of the “enemies within” “ban them for life” "3 strikes and you are out" bring back the cat, how about reinstating keelhauling. More serious offences could be dealt with more harshly.

How about a new Ministry of Misinformation ? This could include a small band of anti-lowcarbers, who could trawl the tabloids looking for negative information regarding saturated fat, posting those sort of links always gets the place buzzing. Anyone questioning the posting and arguing with the op, a session in the stocks and being pelted with high carb junk should bring the trouble making member back into line. Should a member question the standard cut and paste job to newbie’s outlining the ridiculous NICE guidelines regarding HbA1c, a swift suspension of posting rights for a month should suffice.

One of the worst crimes a member can commit is telling the truth regarding the outcomes and life expectancy for so many diabetics. This was highlighted this week when the data was sent out to the members via an email from the main site. Comments such as “If I see something that I think will depress a lot of members then I don't post it after all this is a support forum.” or “Give it a rest please - don't rub it in.…” “I dont want those e-mails at all..how do I stop them” Not a problem, members were given instructions how to stop them receiving emails. Members in the past had caused uproar by discussing safe HbA1c numbers and the dire consequences of non compliance. Some of them were swiftly banned, and so they should be ! Imagine the grief caused to a member dunking his chocolate digestive into his tea and having that to contend with, its enough to put him off sugar/starch for life.

So what of the future, can Benedict turn the place around ? I hope so and I think he will. Most importantly he is a lowcarber and as we have seen this week with the uplifting news about Bob Krause 85 years a lowcarb diabetic (also sent out in the life expectancy email) diabetics do not have to succumb to complications. Another life saver is Benedict’s fantastic sense of humour. The last word to him and Patch regarding the aforementioned email.

Patch “Life expectancy (+win an iPod)
You just gotta have a sense of humour about it, mate. One of the greatest coping tools a diabetic can have is a low humour threshold!”

Benedict “You may pleased to know that the ipod comes pre-loaded with Blue Oyster Cult's 'Don't fear the Reaper' -sorry, only joking here.”

See, it’s not all witch hunts and gloom over there.

It's clear as daylight and anyone can see how desperate you are Eddie. LOL

You are putting all your egs in one basket in the hope that Benedict will "Turn the forum around".

LOL, you really are as desperate as I assumed you were back when we had "good times".

In your desperation you foolishly forget that Benedict is just another tool for the company to sell their products, he will do as he is told and nothing else or out he goes, head first probably.

On one side you claim that the company who owns/runs the forum only put it to up it's profits by selling their own products and earning on every time someone clicks on the advertising and now you are hoping that a low carbing employee of the forum will be given total controll to turn it around and make it a low carb forum?

You are a joke Eddie, thanks for the larf. LOL LOL LOL

Most of the negative stuff I receive goes in the shredder. The comment above is far more accomplished than most of the dross.

Win a free Ipod for guessing who sent it. If this is the sort of opposition Benedict has to deal with he will sort the forum out in no time. Anyway I’m off to Sunday night choir practise………We’ll keep a welcome in the hillside we’ll keep a welcome in the vale………LOL

Does anyone remember “fun times” with Kenny boy? What I do remember is vile, foul mouthed troll - wrunkelt, millimetre, silverfox and probably others.

I also remember the constant championing of the relaxed NICE guidelines for blood glucose levels. He never seemed to question these guidelines in the light of published results regarding diabetes control in the UK. It is with repeating these truly dreadful results.

NHS Statistics for 2008 2009:
% of Type 1 diabetics with HbA1c greater than 7.5 per cent = 71.4.
% of Type 2 diabetics with HbA1c greater than 7.5 per cent = 33.4 per cent.
%of Type 1 diabetics with HbA1c greater than 10.0 per cent = 33.6 per cent.
% of Type 2 diabetics with HbA1c greater than 10.0 per cent = 14.3 per cent.
These results are very similar to those found in 2006 – 2007 and 2007 – 2008

Type 1 Life expectancy reduced by 20 years
Type 2 Life expectancy reduced by 10 years
I don’t’ remember Kenny boy initiating any discussion as to what could improve these results.

What I do remember is the gradual disappearance of posters who had successfully managed to lower their HbA1c.

Let’s not forget Kenny boys “Night of the long knives” when so many lowcarbers were banned and many thousands of lowcarbers posts were deleted. The reason given at the time “some general house keeping and saving space” the word games were considered of value and stayed. Over two years of tyranny is coming to an end, but while the antis fiddle, Rome burns. Eddie

Ken was a man who conducted himself with the utmost decorum. A true lesson in graceful dignity.

Then someone let him near a keyboard.

It's good to see the forum functioning well without the oppressive interference of the monitors. Lets hope the new team recognise the word neutral, Ken has imposed "his way" for far to long.

Wrong thinking Eddie wrote: "Win a free Ipod for guessing who sent it."

LOL, you can't be much further away from the truth Eddie.

If it was Ken, he probably would have signed it with his name, me......I will keep you guessing a little while longer.

You blame everything on Ken and believe that he was the one responsible for you and the other nutters being banned from Diabetes.co.uk....you have absolutely no idea what went on and who the person for you and your sockpuppets being kicked out on your backsides was. I do, but I think I'll keep that to myself.

You deciding to go after Ken at a time which was very hard for him was the lowest in the gutter you could go. You proved that you don't give a dam about anyone no matter how ill they are, all you care about is people doing whatever you tell them to do so that you can boast you helped them.

Instead of helping people as you claim you want to you've landed in the gutter and became the sad little man I though you were when I had my first encounter with you....you can't go lower than you already are, enjoy your reputation.

I know for certain that you will not publish this on your blog but by publishing my last comment proved to me that you at read them before you bin them.....that's more than enough for me. At least I know that you cringe everytime you read my comments, THAT IS what makes me larf. LOL LOL LOL

TATA for now.

Well my old friend, it appears my post was a bit too subtle for you. I never thought it was Ken. The clue was in the song my dear. It's people like you that keep me going, your comments are always welcome.

By the way, have you tried the almond flour sponge cake, it's absolutely spiffing.

PS: Even if I was on a suicide mission I would not even try poison from the likes of you, it'll never work.

PPS: The only thing what keeps you going is the thought of you being looked up at as the "saviour". LOL LOL LOL

PPPS: Funny how everyone who commented also belive that you think it was Ken.

PPPPS: You must be the only person on the planet who didn't know that Ken has been ill for a long time....well, it's no wonder with your head stuck so far up your backside, must be very lonely up there. LOL LOL LOL

I thought it was either Ken or a Ken-like substance. It's always difficult to tell until the posts are analyzed for vitriolic compounds.

Generally speaking, If it reads like the rantings of somebody on the very edge of the outer limits of mental stability, then it probably isn't Ken.

If, on the other hand, it appears to have been written by the kind of man that you'd expect to see sitting naked amongst the frozen chicken at Tesco trying to bite passers-by, then it could be the real McKen.

"Grh ......
Rose tinted glasses......that is how many, particularl new members, see this place. A perfect world. Well, I have news for them......they only see a tiny proportion of what has taken place here over the last couple of years."

Absolutely Ken you have deleted much of the truth about what has happened over the last couple of years. The abuse of your position as a monitor has seen to that, trying to come the innocent party does not wash with those who have witnessed your arrogant dismissal of those who do not kowtow to you.

I don't know anything about this, but it's pretty disgusting that someone would "laugh out loud" about someone else being "ill for a long time".

And what the bloody heck happened to lowcarbdiabetes.co.uk? The site is still there but the forums appear closed and all the messages vanished.

Re the being "ill for a long time" we were made aware of Kens illness when in the midst of one of his foul mouthed rants as the troll wrunkelt he told us on the lowcarbdiabetes site.

As to whats happened to the LC forum thats something only David (admin) can answer.

Amidst all of these comments I just wanted to say, that John I agree with you, the results are dreadful, truly dreadful. It is not doing anyone any good at all just ignoring them in the hope they will disappear, they will not. It is up to us all to get them improved and we can only do that by following what we know to be good dietary sense. Be boring and repetitive just keep spreading the word at every opportunity, when we go to our diabtes support meetings, when we go for our checks tell the diabetic nurse/GP why our results are good. Just keep spresding the word.
